Mini Biography:
Vidya was born in Tamil-speaking Balan family on 01.01.1978 in Palghat, Kerala, India. Her family consists of her father, PR Balan, Vice President of ETC Channel mother - a home-maker, and an older sister, Priya, who is married to Kedar. She also has an aunt with the name of Raji Raju. The family moved out to live Balanchine Road No 11, near Ambedkar Garden, Chembur, Bombay, when Vidya was very young.
She studied at St Anthony's Convent School and then St. Xavier's College where she earned a degree in sociology. Then she took a master's degree in sociology at the University of Bombay to achieve. She has also studied and performed in Prithvi Theaters' workshops. Because the tradition of most Tamil-Iyer families learned Vidya and her Priya Carnatic dance form during their early childhood days, but Vidya opted the dance took place Sunday morning, and if she does not is an early riser.
Considerably overweight, rather tomboyish, during her school days and an avid fan of Shahrukh Khan, she decided the extra pounds, if they chose to focus on modeling and film barn.
