Principles of Asin:
Thottumkal Asin was born on 26 October 1979 in Kochi, Kerala Syrian Christian family. Her father Joseph Tottumkal an entrepreneur who is now her manager. Her mother is Thottumkal Seline, a surgeon by profession.Asin studied at the Naval Public School and Higher Secondary School St. Theresa's. She packed her education with a degree in English literature from St. Theresa's College.She assisted her father in his company that is varied, ranging from software exports. She has also modeled and appeared in advertisements for Colgate toothpaste and Fair Cream Ever.

2001-2003
Asin face the cameras when she was fifteen in Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001). Her Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila 2003 Ammay Shivamani and won her Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award and Best Actress Award Santosham respectively.
2004-2006
She remained in Telugu hits like Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana work in 2004. She went back to deliver a hit in Tamil film M Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi. While Chakram failed Ullam Ketkumae and Sivakashi Majaa became hits in 2005. The Tamil movie Ghajini, also released in 2005, became a bestseller and won her Filmfare Best Actress Award Tamil. Her two films in 2006 Varalaru, a Tamil film and Annavaram, a Telugu film was a success.
2007-2009
In 2007 Asin scored two of the three when Pokiri Hide and did well, while sullen underperformance. Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam extravaganza in 2008 was again a hit with Asin playing Kothai Radha and Andale. That same year she made her debut in Bollywood with the Hindi version of Ghajini starring Aamir Khan. Vipul Shah's London Dreams, published in 2009, told her that the lead actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
