The traditional and old hand-woven Saris from Paithan Aurangabad city in Maharashtra, has a reputation for a unique design and excellent quality. This handwoven Saris, known as "Paithani" is calculated as the royal costume.
But imitation of such a wonderful pattern of Saris in other parts of the country creates a threat to the livelihood of weavers in this costume. Also because of these fake products, buyers have difficulty while buying the product, such a differentiation of the fake from the original product is confusing.
Assuming such a situation, the central government recently offered Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for this traditional dress of Indian women, with an initiative of the Forum of handwoven weavers. Such a measure taken by the government has a limit of unscrupulous dealers, production and sale of counterfeit Paithani Saris.
Besides all this, there is obtained an official patent before Pratishthan Weavers Association of Aurangabad in this authentic Saris. Holding this patent roof Paithani Saris weavers would receive the best prices for their products in both local and international markets.
